When Estee and I got in touch and started to planning their Maternity Photo Session I was so excited. Not just because I had been in lockdown for feels-like-over-a-century last I took pictures, and not just because they were expecting a little one, but because they are SUPER sweet!! Hanging with them is so lekker.
I first met them in 2017 when we did a shoot of them two. They just have such a cool vibe and I came away feeling so inspired and energised.

Now these two have grown and are expecting their first little baba! I so enjoyed our little walk and putting together this collection of photographs for them. These memories are so cool to have and I know things can get hectic in life and there are always 100 excuses to put a pass on this, but I know down the line they will be treasuring these for a life time.

Here’s the thing: So many families that tell me: “We would love to do some photos as a family together!” and it is always followed by: “..one day.” If you all know what I know, which I assume you do. And also what our world wide shutdown has taught us and that is time and family are precious.

If I can offer any advise and this really comes from a genuine place and not just because I make a living from my profession, but don’t wait too long.

There are so many activities as a family you can enjoy together. Making the process so much more fun, with genuine laughter and no posey, fake smiles. Yes, you know those one’s your folks forced you to do when you were young. Cringe, but still so precious, right?

Families are there in all their shapes, sizes, ages and levels of craziness. Folks, it’s not about the outside, it’s about a time and space that we together created a window into a time passed. Moments that will feel “like yesterday” when you peer through it. Magic, right?!
