Every now and again I meet couples that blow me away and Kirsten and Duran are totally that kind of those kind. I can’t always put my finger on it, maybe it’s something about their vibe or my vibe around them or their beautiful pooches’ vibe. Haha! Weird one I know, but for their warm-up shoot they brought their cuties pups with and you could see how much they love their mom and dad. Have a look here.
Kirsten and Duran chose Pont De Val to host their wedding and it is a beautiful venue situated next to the Vaal river in Gauteng. Not too far from the Vaal Triangle it is the perfect little getaway from the hustle and bustle of city-life. Kirsten and Duran had quite the lead up to an official rainy day, however Pont De Val is super equipped to manage that. The staff as very friendly and organised, and everything flowed flawlessly.
The day’s highlight for me was when Duran read his speech at the reception. Oh, did I mention I LOVE the speeches! So awesome to hear in words what another person thinks and believes of another. Using words in this way is a very special gift to the one you are talking about. Duran switched the names up a bit to tell the story and it was the sweetest expression of his first impressions and how their likes and loves grew to where they are today.
Their love is contagious and I love being around them.
Kirsten and Duran here are some wise words from Kahlil Gibran that I thought reflect your intentions. Much love!
You were born together, and together you shall be forever more.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Fill each other’s cup, but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread, but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.
