The Calmness Of The Sun And The Bush – Written by Nina Bosch

Growing up and living in the Lowveld since birth, I wanted to create a photo shoot where you can feel the tranquility of the African sun on your face, the movement of the warm breeze whisking through the grass and the sensational colors of the sky.

My Collection is called Aeolia which is inspired by the Greek god, Aeulus, who was the keeper of the winds. Whilst gently hammering every piece by hand and painting it with gold lustre, it started reminding me of the soft wind blowing over sand, the different hues of the gold shining as a golden sunset.

I chose Cape Town based designer, Nelle from Wass, for her beautiful hand made flowing clothing range. Her work paired perfectly with my vision for the photo shoot.

A little behind the scenes: Kim and I have done a couple of collaborations together, and each one is more exciting than the previous. Being terrible with explaining my ideas, Kim can understanding my hand gestures and turning them into a reality. Michelle and Eulander’s given beauty. Collaborating with talented friends who’s work I admired is always the most satisfying part of working together.
