So, you’ve been asked to be a bridesmaids or groomsmen for your loved one’s big day. What an honour!

Being chosen by a dear friend or relative to share this journey with them, as part of their inner circle, is a beautiful and intimate thing. However, it can be quite intimidating! Especially if it’s your first time in a wedding party.

I have put together a few tips here, which will hopefully help YOU to help the bride and groom on their big day. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and feel the love!

1. Be on time!

The morning of the big day can be very stressful, so it’s important to get there on time – or even early! – to help create a calm and relaxed atmosphere.

2. Checklists are a MUST!

There is a LOT going on during a wedding and the prepping for it. It’s impossible to keep everything straight in your head, even if you do have a great memory! So keep a checklist, and make sure you’ve got a list of the vendors and their contact numbers too.

3. Familiarise yourself with the wedding day timeline.

It’s not a bad idea to print out copies for each member of the bridal party, so that nobody is unsure about what to do next.

4. Create a playlist for getting ready!

Music is so important when it comes to creating a vibe!
So, plan ahead and create a playlist that evokes happy memories and a relaxed feeling, that you can put on while everyone is getting ready.

5. Pack an emergency necessities bag.

This includes touch-up necessities such as lipstick and other makeup, deodorant, and even a needle and thread in case any mishaps occur throughout the day!

6. Breakfast: the most important meal of the day!

Make sure that the bride and groom (as well as you and the rest of the party) has eaten a wholesome breakfast. Choose food and drinks that don’t cause bloating and are energizing for the long and exciting day ahead.
