When couples dream of getting married in South Africa, they’re often looking for more than just a beautiful venue. They want an unforgettable experience—breathtaking scenery, incredible food, warm hospitality, and a celebration that feels effortless from beginning to end.
Kemmbelly and Josua’s intimate wedding at Diamant Estate was exactly that.
Travelling from Switzerland to celebrate with their closest family and friends, they chose one of the Cape Winelands’ most beautiful venues for a relaxed yet elegant destination wedding. With the help of the wonderful team at Pinky Promise Weddings, every detail came together seamlessly, allowing them to simply soak in every moment of the day.
Getting Ready at Diamant Estate
The morning unfolded at a wonderfully relaxed pace.
Kim spent the morning with her bridesmaids, sharing quiet moments, laughter and the excitement that only a wedding morning brings. Meanwhile, Josua was equally calm while getting ready, making for some genuinely fun and natural photographs before the ceremony.
One of my favourite things about photographing smaller weddings is how present everyone is. There is time to breathe, to connect, and to truly enjoy the people you’ve chosen to celebrate with.
An Intimate Ceremony in the Cape Winelands
Surrounded by the vineyards of Diamant Estate and their closest loved ones, Kim and Josua exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony that felt incredibly personal.
Everything Kim had envisioned—from the florals to the décor—came together beautifully. The styling felt elegant, natural and perfectly suited to the vineyard setting without ever feeling overdone.
It was one of those weddings where every detail complemented the atmosphere instead of competing for attention.
Golden Hour Portraits Among the Vineyards
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed canapés while cellist Dorette created the perfect atmosphere with beautiful live music.
These quieter moments are often some of my favourites to photograph. Everyone relaxed with a glass of wine, conversations flowed effortlessly, and there was a wonderful feeling of simply enjoying being together. And a couple of shots of “Springbokkies” of course! Which is a typical South Africa drink of peppermint liqueur and Amarula.
As the afternoon softened into golden hour, we slipped away with Kim and Josua for a few portraits.
The light could not have been more perfect.
Those few minutes before sunset produced some of my favourite images from the entire day—soft golden light, vineyards in the distance and two people completely wrapped up in each other.
An Elegant Outdoor Reception
Guests were welcomed to a beautifully styled outdoor reception beneath the Cape sky.
A curved reception table, natural textures and neutral styled décor created an elegant setting that perfectly complemented Diamant Estate’s surroundings.
After heartfelt speeches, everyone enjoyed an exceptional dinner prepared by Red Pepper Catering. The evening then flowed naturally into a lively celebration, with DJ Cosher filling the dance floor and keeping guests dancing well into the night.
It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable celebration.
